Beautiful and heart-wrenching…a real love story about two people who find each other and fall deeply in love. With mistakes made and unforseeable tragedy breaking them apart, their relationship and love is tested to its limits. Beautifully written and emotional.
“My soul mourned for what it had lost, for every day I had lived without them, for every moment wasted, for time that could not be reclaimed.”
Disturbing, thrilling, heart-stopping, captivating, confusing, infuriating, crazy-inducing… and dare I even say at times… romantic? When Claire first realized she was being held captive by the ever-controlling and cruel Tony Rawlings, she never imagined the path her life would take. These books are fireballs of raging emotions filled with mystery and deceit, with love and passion.
“Could it be possible to hate and love someone too? … After all, doesn’t everyone have a good and a bad side?”
I loved this seductive, sexy, intense and deeply romantic series. Our protagonist Ethan Blackstone leaves an indelible mark among the countless alpha books. There is so much more than eroticism, so much more than possessiveness, there’s a real story, well-written with romance and passion brimming on every page. This has become one of my favorites and was really happy with the way the third book concluded. Highly recommend these books!
“That picture changed everything. I was not the same after I saw it, and I couldn’t go back to the man I’d been before seeing it either… My whole world altered because of a photograph. A photograph of my beautiful American girl.”
I never had a chance to formally review these books… but who didn’t fall in love with these two action-packed and gripping dystopian reads? Suspense. Romance. Adventure. These books had it all for me. Fans of the Hunger Games will love this series! Allegiant, book 3, unfortunately was a bit disappointing for me, but still worth the read in my opinion. Read my review here.
One Choice, decided your friends.
One Choice, defines your beliefs.
One Choice, determines your loyalties – Forever.
ONCE CHOICE CAN TRANSFORM YOU”
Holy-freakin-funny gods! This could be the funniest book I’ve ever read! When Caroline meets her wallbanging neighbor, Simon, a laugh-out-loud, hilarious story ensues. Everyone should read this book. This is the book I recommend to everyone… it put me in the best.mood.ever.
“He was wooing me. And I was letting him woo. I wanted the woo. I deserved the woo. I needed the wow that would surely follow the woo, but for now, the woo? It was whoa.”
- My review of Captive In The Dark
- My review of Seduced In The Dark
- My review of Epilogue: The Dark Duet
Intense, rock-your-world-and-take-me-straight-to-therapy reads. Dark, yet captivating. One moment I was angry, the next I was terrified, the next I was grinning and swooning. I really questioned my own emotions while reading these books. They’re a veritable mindfuck and you won’t be able to put them down.
“During the course of our time together, I’d fallen in love with my captor. I’d fallen in love with his smell and his taste, his smile, kindness, and yes, even his cruelty, because I knew it was a part of him.”
Holy hotness, grab a fan, girls… this book is HOT! Impossible romance…the rich daughter of a champion breeder and a gorgeous guy that works for her father. Trick is one hot cowboy and this was one steamy read I devoured.
“The most amazing eyes I’ve ever seen are staring back at me. They are pale greenish-gray, rimmed in sooty lashes and filled with concern… God, his eyes! I’ve never seen eyes that make me want to gasp and giggle and do a striptease all at once. But these do.”
One of my favorite rockstar romance reads. I didn’t get a chance to review Thoughtless and Effortless, but let me tell you that these three books are SO good! And Reckless, the conclusion of the series is awesome. Perfect. Thoughtless had me feeling angry, Effortless made me fall deeper in love with Kellan and Reckless had me swooning, crying and never wanting it to end. I ♥ Kellan Kyle!
“I’d found the one. My soul. My better half. My reason for being. Nothing in this life would ever fill me with as much joy and peace as Kellan did. I really didn’t know what I would do without him.”
Amazing story about love and loss, about grievous sadness and reluctant happiness, about being broken and learning to heal. I cried, I smiled and I was held hostage by the power and emotion on every page. It’s just a beautiful read. One of my all-time faves.
“I wasn’t always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in any way.”
RUSH CRUSH! One of my favorite Abbi Glines series. Angsty romance that totally hooked me. This is an angsty and heartfelt read about a girl who is trying to leave tragedy behind and meets someone who against all odds, steals her heart. Once I finished Forever Too Far, I really found it hard to let go of the series. Thankfully, we do have some spin-off books that keep us connected with some of our favorite characters. See the reading orders for these books here.
“Nothing in life was as precious as this woman. It never would be. I’d found my happiness.”
Exciting, engaging and incredibly romantic paranormal series. I didn’t know anything about these books and was riveted from the very beginning. When Giovanni Vecchio encounters young and fiesty librarian Beatrice De Novo, they embark on a thrilling and captivating adventure. I loved the backdrop of libraries, books and ancient documents, because as usual, it appeals to my geeky side. It’s truly a fantastic series that deserves more attention.
“Ubi amo, ibi patria. Where I love, there is my home.”
Sexy. Unique. Total page turner. I’ll be honest, I was allured by the beautiful cover. So I picked it up and was so glad I did. I love the originality of the story line and absolutely fell in love with Kaidan Rowe – our rockstar hero. The book’s characters are children of the Dukes of Hell, sons and daughters of fallen angels who are responsible for being bad influences to the people around them. Forbidden romance in the face of super-hot chemistry between Anna and Kai makes this a fabulous read. The final installment, Sweet Reckoning, will be out April 2014.
“He was smoking hot. As in H-O-T-T, hott. I’d never understood until that moment why girls insisted on adding an extra t. This guy was extra-t-worthy.”
I absolutely love these books! The Covenant Series is one of my favorite paranormal romance series EVER. Exciting. Action-packed. Incredibly romantic. SWOONTASTIC Aiden St. Delphi. All the characters are so likable and it has that effortless and engaging writing from Jennifer Armentrout. I also love the snark and humor in all the books. And the final book in the series, Sentinel, was perfect… it did not disappoint! For the reading order on these novels, click here.
“I am so awesome and who needs daggers when I have akasha fingers of power?”
Powerful and emotional. I haven’t found a person that doesn’t love this book. It’s really unique, beautiful and romantic, I LOVED IT. One of my favorite books EVER. The adventure of a lifetime begins when Camryn Bennett decides to get on a Greyhound bus in search of making it on her own. It’s there where she meets Andrew Parrish, who will change her life forever. The sequel, The Edge of Always, is one of the books I’m most looking forward to reading this year! I CANNOT wait to have it on my Kindle. One last thing… this may be my favorite book cover ever too. Love it.
“You were the missing piece of my soul, the breath in my lungs, and the blood in my veins.”
A completed series that’s angsty, romantic and full of drama… I devoured these books. I love these books. Jude is that bad boy we love to love… explosive, but someone who loves and lives passionately. The books are older YA, but really solid… no one can do angst like Nicole Williams. I just really felt it!
“When you find someone you want to spend forever with you, you don’t let them go, whether forever turns out to be a day or a year of fifty years. Don’t let the fear of losing them keep you from loving them.”
Intimate, real, thoughtful, seductive and sexy as hell. I love this series. I love that it’s about a married couple and the very real struggles they go through. Plus, Professor Dean West sets the pages ablaze! Awaken, book 3 will be out January 2014.
“We want our marriage to be a haven of warmth and pleasure again. We want our pure lustiness back, untainted by fear and mistrust. We want the unending spirals of bliss we can create only with each other.
We want to shut the rest of the world out while locking ourselves together.”
Favorite rockstar romance read EVER. It’s been twelve years since Tru Bennett last saw Jake Wethers, her former best friend and boy she once loved. What happens when they come back together unexpectedly? Hot sizzling, off-the-charts chemistry, that’s what. I absolutely LOVE this book! Sexy. Seductive. Steamy. And highly addictive. The sequel, Wethering The Storm did not disappoint, it was an emotional read that perfectly ended the story of Tru and Jake.
“Men want to be him, woman want to screw him… most wanting to be the one to tame the untameable Jake Wethers.”
Hot, passionate and addicting. This book totally hooked me. It made my heart race and completely got under my skin. When Emily Cooper meets Gavin Blake, fireworks erupt and worlds collide passionately. But things are quite complicated, especially since she has a boyfriend who happens to be a friend of Gavin. In book 2, Pulse, plot twists make things even more complicated and kept me glued to the page until the very end. This is a story of finding strength within oneself to realize what it is you want, what’s right and knowing when to grab on to love when it’s right in front of you. One of my favorite series.
“Damn it, Emily. I want us! You belong with me, not him… Every part of you was made for me. Your lips were made to kiss mine, your eyes were made to wake up to me looking at you in my bed every morning and your fucking tongue was made to roll my name off of it. I am more certain of us than I’m certain I require oxygen to breathe.”
Intimate. Amazing. Perfection. Honest. Unforgettable. An extended piece of poetry that is riveting from beginning to end. This is an intimate story told through Will’s perspective on how he felt and what he thought as Layken and him came together. It was butterflying perfect! The Slammed Series is one of my most loved of all time.
“I know in these moments, when it’s just her and me and nothing else, that she soul-deep loves me.”
Sexy, captivating, addictive. The chemistry between Woods and Della is sizzling and the story is real, painful and emotional. One of my favorite Abbi Glines’ series ever!
“I loved her. I loved her with a something so fierce I couldn’t even name it.”
Jack McLachlan, wealthy wine-making magnate and one of Australia’s most eligible bachelors doesn’t do relationships… until he meets Laurelyn Prescott that is. Suddenly, he starts breaking his own rules. This is a really seductive and alluring read about two people who find love unexpectedly. It’s kind of a twist on an “arrangement” type romance and I really fell in love with both characters.
“I’m going to do everything in my power to make it up to her because I hate what me without her looks like. I’m going to win her back, and when I do, I’m never letting her go again.”
I absolutely, undeniably fell in love with this series. There’s just something really special about it. Lost and Found is a moving story about shedding painful labels and finding the courage to let go of the past and just be yourself. In Near & Far, we see Jesse and Rowen try to conquer their insecurities, overcome their past, and find their way to each other, forever, despite everything that threatens to keep them apart. And finally, Finders Keepers take us on a heartbreaking and heartfelt journey with Garth’s story. All three books are 5-star reads. I love this series!
“We don’t deserve anything Rowen. We don’t deserve punishment, we don’t deserve happiness, life owes us nothing. Realize that… So we have to take what we want because life sure as shit isn’t going to freely hand it over.”
Fearless, provocative and utterly captivating. It’s 432 pages full of deep-seated emotion and sinful eroticism. When notorious erotica writer Nora Sutherlin pairs up with editor Zachary Easton, we uncover a world of secrets, eroticism and emotion. The Siren is uniquely constructed with layers upon layers of subtext and feeling. One of the best written books I’ve read. It’s brilliant. I can’t wait to read the rest of The Original Sinners books.
“You’re beautiful enough and wild enough that you make me think things I never thought I would think again and feel things I didn’t think I’d ever feel again. And you make me afraid I’ll start forgetting things I don’t want to forget. You’re dangerous.”
A really engaging and emotional read that features a love triangle that really hurts. It’s a journey about finding happiness, finding your sense of home and overcoming painful pasts with the support of those who love you. Bring Me Home, the final book in the series closed this highly emotional series perfectly.
“How can you still love me after everything I’ve done to you?” “How can I not? You’re the fucking love of my life. You don’t stop loving someone just because they’ve hurt you. Yes, what you did hurt me, but I gain nothing if I stay angry with you. But I might gain everything by forgiving you. You’re my everything. I just want you back.”
Epic. Beautiful. Raw. Heartbreaking. Unforgettable Perfection. Brilliantly written and a must-read for every book lover. One of the best books I’ve ever read in my life. A story of incredibly tragedy and pain and what can happen when you open your heart and let love in. This book is truly a work of art.
“I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.”
This was my first taste of Kristen Ashley’s books and I loved it! Her style of writing is completely unique and it truly is completely kickass. This book centers around the action and drama in the Chaos Motorcycle Club. The chemistry between Tabby and Shy is scorching and it’s a fun, captivating read that I absolutely enjoyed. Fire Inside, book 2 in the Chaos series, is available now.
“Know this, Tabby, I lose you, it would be sixty years of goin’ through the motions. I know that in my dick. I know it in my gut. I know it in my heart. I know it deep down in my goddamned soul”
Hilarious, fresh and so much fun to read. I found myself talking to all my friends about this book. If you’re looking for a light-hearted read you’ll devour in one sitting, this is your book! Book 2 is called Twisted and hopefully it will be out soon!
“See that guy – black suit, devilishly handsome? Yea, the guy getting the blow job from the luscious redhead in the bathroom stall? That’s me. The real me.
MBF: Me Before Flu.”
Honest, heart-rending and enthralling. A well-written paranormal romance series with the most painful love triangle EVER. Seriously, it’s impossible to pick. The pain, the heartache, the sadness, the desperation, the love and even the elation… I felt it so completely. But it’s not all pain and heartache, there are moments where my heart felt so full and happy too. This series really deserves so much more attention… it’s a gem, I tell ya!
“What I feel for you goes beyond love… You’re my best friend. My favorite person. Someone I know I can go to when I’m happy or sad or anything in between. The only person who makes me lose control, who makes me so hot and fills me with so much want and need I can’t even think straight. The person whose lips are addictive… whose mind is more beautiful than anything else I’ve ever seen. You’re more than my Connection.”
Action-packed, funny and totally badass. This book was one exciting ride. Rock Chick had an exciting combination of danger, romance, angst, thrill and even humor. I mean, there’s kidnappings, shoot-outs, bar brawls, food fights, drag queen shows and hot sex… what else do you need?! The Rock Chick Series has 8 books, with Rock Chick Revolution being the last installment released in August of this year.
“I’m not gettin’ off, not goin’ away, not playin’ anymore games or wastin’ anymore fuckin’ time. I don’t believe in fate or destiny or any of that bullshit. What I know is that as far as I can tell, there isn’t another woman I’ve met who fits my life.”
Sweet, heart-felt and totally captivating. A romantic love story that began with happenstance, but was destined to be real. “A story of self-discovery and friendship, Sweet Thing shines light on the power of loving and letting go.” This is an incredible debut novel by Renee Carlino.
“He buried his face in my neck and pulled me into a hug.
I threw my arms around him and whispered,
“Never let me go.”
He tightened his grip as his mouth moved to my ear.
A past hidden in darkness. Her present cloaked in secrets. The future holds the only truth that cannot be escaped. A riveting, suspenseful and super romantic read. A very different and original book that I definitely recommend you pick up. Don’t forget to read the Epilogue when you are done with book 2.
“Blake, your past is my past, your present is my present and your future is my future. I bear the weight of everything that happens in your life.”
Beautiful, real, introspective, incredibly heartfelt and brilliantly written. This is the story of a girl who doesn’t know who she is… not her real name or her age or where she came from. This is the story of a nobody who becomes a somebody… of a girl and a boy… of finding hope. I absolutely loved this book… It felt so real to me, I felt every character, every moment. I like that it’s not insta-love between the two main characters, it slowly builds, deepening the connection between them as their lives entwine in so many ways that they can’t imagine the course of their lives without the other. I will always cherish this beautiful story.
“What if there was a way to let them go forever? What if I could be different? What if life could be different? What if I could be somebody?”
When Danika meets Tristan… bad things happen. Tristan is trouble with a capital T. But thankfully, for us readers, this was a super sexy and hot read! I’m talking scorching! These two set the pages ablaze and keep you hooked to their story! Rock Bottom is Tristan and Danika’s next book and I can’t wait to see what happens!
“I knew trouble when I saw it, it being a very old friend of mine. Trouble for me was this nasty little self-destructive streak that I’d never quite been able to shake.”
Beautiful and emotional. An incredibly moving journey about transformation… of finding selflessness, purpose, belonging and love.
“Vanity’s a debilitating affliction. You’re so absorbed in yourself it’s impossible to love anyone other than oneself, leaving you weak without realization of it. It’s quite sad. You’ve no idea what you’re missing either. You will never know real love and your life will pass you by.”
Incredibly unique and completely riveting. One of the most original series I have ever read. A brilliantly crafted story of love, manipulation and lies. These books beg the question… How far should we truly go in the name of love? And more so, if what we do is done for love, can we be redeemed?
“I will love again, Olivia, you will hurt forever. What you’ve done is… you are worthless because you make yourself that way. You will remember me every day for the rest of your life because I was the one, and you threw me away.”
Brimming with raw, heartfelt emotion. So moving. So beautiful. I felt every. single. word. One of the best books I’ve ever read and complete perfection. This is Holder’s story… and you won’t forget it. And trust me… the way Colleen Hoover writes, her companion/POV books are not embellished re-tellings… they are fresh, new experiences that will leave you breathless. Absolutely adored this book. Finding Cinderella, is a novella focused on Daniel and Six (Holder and Sky’s best friends) and makes this series a perfect achievement.
“I want to kiss her so fucking bad but I’m too scared. I’m scared if I kiss her too soon, it’ll feel like every other kiss she’s ever received. She’ll feel nothing. I don’t want her to feel nothing when I kiss her. I want her to feel everything.”
Painfully honest, heartbreaking and emotional. This final installment closes a series that will stay with me always. A beautiful story of survival, hope and love. If you haven’t read the Breathing Series, grab LOTS of tissues, some wine and start reading.
“I’m not supposed to live without you. And you’re not supposed to live without me. We’re in this life together. Without each other, we’re not really living.”
A poignant and heartfelt story of surviving your past and finding a reason to live. This book had it all — heartbreak, love, sadness, pain… it held my heart and didn’t let it go until the very last page. Just a beautiful read!
“Your parents died. Your world fell apart.”
I nod. He puts his hand on my cheek.
“You were left drowning.”
I nod again.
“And you’re struggling to breathe.”
- My review of The Unidentified Redhead

- My review of The Redhead Plays Her Hand
Absolutely hilarious! Sexy, sweet and filled with the best banter I’ve read in this genre! I loved these books and couldn’t put them down. I laughed out loud, snorted and was breathless with everything that happened. I love Grace and Jack as a couple and the final book, The Redhead Plays Her Hand, really gives us a heartfelt, well-earned conclusion to this story I’ve loved so much!
“Ok, look. Whenever I hear people say that they felt ‘sparks,’ I usually think it’s a load of poo. I mean, I have felt attraction to people, sure, and I have even felt some instant lust. But sparks? Please… Then he touched my skin. Sparks. Sparks. Sparks. Hot sparks. Flashing sparks. Lightning bolt sparks. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph sparks.”
This book blew me away. It was raw and vivid, I totally felt all the poignant emotions this book evoked: brokenness, fear, pain, heartbreak, insecurity and hopelessness. E.K. Blair’s writing is smooth and gripping and I was lost in feeling Candace’s painful story. The emotions were so palpable and believable. This is a beautiful story about finding the courage inside to overcome something so scarring and harrowing that you feel your life begins to fade into darkness. There are two more books in the series. Freeing is Jase’s story, while Falling is Ryan’s story. Falling, the last book, could be my favorite in the series!
“I sit here, on the bottom of the shower, and everything I know about myself, everything I love, everything I am begins to fade.”
Warm. Heartfelt. Original and engaging. This book was a breath of fresh air. A story about a group of friends coming together, pasts, presents and futures colliding, proving that it’s never too late for happily ever afters.
“I think you know I love you. Not past tense, not friendly love. Love. Love that lassos the moon and lays it at your feet.”
A unique and enthralling dystopian book that hooked me from the very first paragraph to the very last page. It features a highly forbidden romance. This book will have your heart racing the entire time. Book 2 is Hunted and will be out next year.
“Even if it was only for a day, an hour, or a minute —
I would risk everything just so I could be with you.”
Fiercely unique. Bold. Riveting. Gritty. Stressfully intense. Evoking such an exceptionally wide range of emotions, this action-packed and thought-provoking story left me breathlessly tense.
“Do you think because you can’t see my scars that they don’t exist? That’s the trouble with pain, Ellie. If you’re lucky, you can wear it for all the world to see. Most people have their pain deep inside, in places no one ever goes. Not until it’s too late.”
Epic. Tragic. Beautiful. The most enduring and inspiring love story ever. A stunning work of art that captivated me so completely, heart and soul. With the power to shatter you into pieces and then fill you heart with joy, this is an unforgettable story of two people who would do anything for love. The only books I have ever given infinity stars to… I LOVE THEM THAT MUCH! Check out my dedicated page to this amazing trilogy.
“Good-bye, my moonsong and my breath, my white nights and golden days, my fresh water and my fire. Good-bye, and may you find a better life, find comfort again and your breathless smile, and when your beloved face lights up once more at the Western sunrise, be sure what I felt for you was not in vain. Good-bye and have faith, my Tatiana.”
Brilliantly written, vividly depicting and instantly absorbing. A riveting murder mystery featuring a compelling detective with a crumbling lifestyle a clever sidekick with a lot of heart. I was totally engrossed from beginning to end! A stellar achievement by J.K. Rowling (writing as Robert Galbraith).
“They wrote that she was unbalanced, unstable, unsuited to the superstardom her wildness and her beauty had snared; that she had moved among an immoral moneyed class that had corrupted her; that the decadence of her new life had unhinged an already fragile personality.”

Exciting. Consuming. Addictive. Imaginative. An all-engrossing story that transpires amid a dark and sinister underworld populated by a host of intriguing, well-developed characters that left me hungry for more. Mystery, action, murder, passion, revenge… these books have it all! One of the best series I’ve ever read with the most shocking, jaw-dropping endings imaginable. Here’s the reading order.
“Sometimes, Ms. Lane,” he said, “one must break with one’s past to embrace one’s future. It is never an easy thing to do. It is one of the distinguishing characteristics between survivors and victims. Letting go of what was, to survive what is.”
Absolutely amazing. An emotional, powerful, piercing and heartfelt story of love and friendship, loss and surviving the difficult
“side effects of dying.” Beautifully written and deserving of all the praise it has garnered, I will never forget the gripping story of
Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters.
“My name is Hazel. Augustus Waters was the great sat-crossed love of my life. Ours was an epic love story, and I won’t be able to get more than a sentence into it without disappearing into a puddle of tears. Gus knew. Gus knows. I will not tell you our love story, because-like all real love stories-it will die with us, as it should.”
Edgy, intense, sexy, romantic and instantly absorbing with well-developed and intriguing characters. This is a story about
rising above your circumstances, no matter what they are, and seizing your true chance at happiness before you lose it all.
“I believe some people are inherently evil.
I believe guilt is a powerful motivator.
I believe redemption is something you can strive for but never fully achieve.
I believe second chances exist only in dreams, never in reality.
I believe you don’t have years, or months, or weeks to impact a person’s life.
You have seconds.
Seconds to win them over, and seconds to lose them.”
Dark and daring, emotional and edgy. Courtney Cole takes us on a bold journey fraught with guilt, anger, heartbreak and secrets that consume. It’s an instantly absorbing tale of finding hope, love and forgiveness.
“The best things in life are worth the greatest risk. Falling in love is one of those things. Can it break out hearts? Yes. Most definitely. But more than not, before we fall, we fly.”
Every now and then I come across a book that owns me. This one completely consumed me from the first page. I sat up a little straighter, inched a little closer to my Kindle and focused a little more intently on the words that pulsed across the screen. Visceral. That was the immediate word that came to mind. Lauren Blakely’s word choices, her syntax, her structure and flow took a gripping story even further, to where I felt and experienced every moment in the book. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I can assure you it won’t be the last. The story of Trey and Harley is dark and gritty. It’s not pretty. It’s not clean. It’s real and rough around the edges. It’s brimming with emotion and full of temptation. It’s angst and addiction, it’s love and redemption. It’s two sex addicts trying to find themselves as they unexpectedly find the very thing that eluded them for so long in each other… real love. The kind of love that suddenly and beautifully arises from the ugliness of a past tarnished by irreversible mistakes, profound disappointment and ruthless addiction.
“Sometimes when I say the words silently, in my head, at a whisper, I can still feel a fierce red blush covering my cheeks. I was a call girl… I loved it. I loved the crazy burn, the rush, the thrill of power. Because I needed it, I wanted it, I craved it. I still do.”
Thank the gods, as Alex Andros may have said!!! After the bittersweet conclusion of the Covenant series, I wasn’t sure if I could hold out until August when Opposition, the final book in the Lux series would release. Thankfully, Jennifer L. Armentrout has delivered the first addictive taste of another series which instantly became an obsession for me. How is she able to make gargoyles cool? I mean, really… gargoyles? Yes, gargoyles. And they are super cool… and sexy! 🙂 You do NOT want to miss this book!
“When my father had announced on Dez’s eighteenth birthday that he supported a match between us, I’d never been happier than I was in that moment. I was young. I was stupid. When Dez had disappeared the very next day, I experienced a heartache that I thought would swallow me whole and never spit me out. He’d been more than a crush. He had been my best friend, my confidant and my world.”
Passionate. Romantic. Enrapturing. I was instantly absorbed again by Gabriel and Julia’s story as they battle their insecurities, their past and their hopes for their future. It was a perfect conclusion to one of my all-time favorite series.
“Gabriel was a consuming fire. His passion, his desires, all seemed to overtake the desires of those around them.”
My newest all-consuming obsession and one of my absolute favorite books of the year! Utterly addicting, instantly absorbing and vividly depicted with intriguing and unforgettable characters. The story line is unique, suspenseful and brimming with the kind of scorching desire and idyllic romance that lingers with you long after the book ends.
“You cannot thrive under the wrong stars, Kricket… the stars here are in opposition to you… can’t you feel it?… Let us take you home.”
Achingly raw. Deeply heartfelt. Simultaneously tragic and hopeful. A powerful story of two young people coming of age under heartbreaking circumstances, grasping on to each other as they try to endure the pain that life continues to throw at them. Each page in this story bleeds emotion, heartbreak, tragedy and a deep-seated need for connection. This story is a journey. One that is fraught with the stuff of life that is rough and painful and often times ugly.
“I also knew I’d never be the same. I felt the scars on my heart and in my mind. I’d been cut deep and the wounds would never really heal… I’d been painted by pain. Several coats of it, a deep, thick varnish that wouldn’t ever fade.”
A wonderful, feel-good second chance romance packed with fierce wit, irrepressible longing, heartwarming moments and the bestest ever 80/90s references. LOVED. IT. This is a romance of two people who fell in love early on and despite life getting in the way, they never forgot the other, somehow knowing they were lucky enough to find their soul mate during the turbulence and uncertainty of their teenage years. But what if your first love becomes one of the most sought after movie stars in the country? And more importantly, what if the love that blossomed so long ago is still the only real love you’ve ever known? There’s sexiness, humor, emotion, angst… the series had it all. I didn’t want it to end!
