For the third year in a row, I’m thrilled to host a Texas-sized signing with 40+ bestselling authors across multiple genres and age categories. Austin Book Fest celebrates our mutual love of reading by bringing together a passionate group of readers and authors.
The event takes place on March 5th in sunny Austin, Texas and includes both a traditional signing and an intimate, fun meet and greet with live music, in the spirit of the ‘Music Capital of the World.’

Location and Hotels
Austin Book Fest will take place at the Hyatt Regency Austin (Texas Ballroom) on March 5th, 2016. There is a room block at the Hyatt Regency Austin and the Embassy Suites (directly across the street), but many other hotels are located in this downtown Austin area.
- Signing: Saturday March 5th, begins at noon and runs through 4 pm CST.
- Meet & Greet: Free event Saturday March 5th, 8 to 9 pm with authors at the Hyatt hotel bar featuring music from Griffin Peterson and band.
- There will also be a special, ticketed event on Thursday, March 3rd! Bestselling author Kristen Ashley is bringing her Rock Chick Rendezvous event to Austin! Tickets are limited and you can get them here! Tickets include a t-shirt, bag with signed books, hors d’oeuvres and more! Please note, however, Kristen and Jill will not be signing during this event… they will sign on Saturday.
How to Dress + What to Bring
Dress is casual and feel free to bring any items for authors to sign, and as many books as you’d like. Depending on line flow, assistants and line monitors may ask those with too many books to go through the line more than once.
You will be able to buy most books on site through Barnes and Nobles (those traditionally published), as well as through authors. You can also bring books from home. A list of on-sale Barnes & Noble books can be found here.

Where can I buy a ticket?
We are completely sold out. THERE WILL BE NO TICKETS SOLD AT THE DOOR.
Will you need to bring your ticket to the event?
It is highly encouraged you bring your ticket with you (printed or shown w/ phone). Log on to eventbrite if you can’t find your original email, you should be able to re-print. We’ll have a list of ticket purchasers at the registration table, but having your ticket will make your entry go much faster. If you’ve been given a ticket from a friend (not with your name on it), you MUST bring a printed ticket/email.
Will there be two entry times like last year?
No, this year, everyone is able to get in at noon and stay the entire time.
Will there be tote bags?
Yes, each person will get a tote bag… while supplies last.
Can I buy a ticket the day of the event?
No, unfortunately not. Due to capacity, once we sell out online, we are SOLD OUT.
Are there t-shirts available for purchase?
Is there a book list available?
Yes, here. Please note that this is a list of all titles written by each author; not all of these books will be available at the signing tables. Please check with the author on which titles they will have on hand. This should help you plan on which books you want to take, read, buy, etc. You can also see which books will be available for purchase from B&N here. Barnes & Noble will have a store you can shop at before and during the event.

What do I do when I first arrive?
Please stop by the registration table to check in before you enter the signing room.
What room will we be in?
The Texas Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Austin.
Do I need to bring cash?
Many authors will have credit card scanners, but you are highly encouraged to bring cash.
Will I be able to bring my own books?
Absolutely. As many as you can haul!
How many books will the author sign?
As many as you have, however, in order to manage lines, you may be asked by author assistants and ABF volunteers to make the line again if you have more than 7 books at a time. With Kristen Ashley, you will only be allowed 8 books total.
Will the authors have books that I can buy from them?
Yes, each author will have books on their table for purchase. Some you will purchase from the author directly, others you will purchase from Barnes & Noble, who will be on site selling books. Books purchased from Barnes & Noble will need to be paid for before you enter the signing room. Barnes & Noble will be stationed to the right of the ballroom and will be open prior to and during the event. They accept cash and credit.
What will the authors sign?
Anything you bring with you!
How does the braceleting work?
There will be five “braceleted” tables this year: Mia Sheridan, Colleen Hoover, Kristen Ashley, Jennifer L. Armentrout and Kresley Cole. More will likely be added at the event.
All attendees wishing to get books signed by these authors must FIRST go to the LINE BRACELETS table to get a bracelet. The staff will call out numbers, 10 to 15 at a time (i.e. Hoover 10 to 25), so that you can go take your place in the appropriate line.
You can get all bracelets at once and the person must be present at the table to receive bracelets (no getting for friends). If your number is called for multiple tables at once, finish with the table you are at, and then proceed to the next tables for which you have been called.
Kristen Ashley will have an 8-book limit total, you will not be able to get back in line a second time, nor will you be able to get a second bracelet. With all other braceleted authors you can get your books signed at once, unless you have more than 12 or so, if that’s the case, let us know at the braceleting table ahead of time.
We hope this will help diminish long lines for those authors. You can get any bracelets you need at one time.

Will there be any additional events, apart from the signing?
Yes, there is a FREE Author Meet & Greet at the Hyatt hotel bar, starting at 8:00 pm. The event is optional for authors, but we expect most will be there. The event is free and additional tickets are NOT required (included as part of your ABF ticket). We’ll also have some live music!
