Review: Jealousy (#2, From the Inside Out) by S.L. Scott

My Thoughts

A deliciously nail-biting sequel in a series
where new beginnings rival second chances.

Synopsis

jealousy coverWe shared a love that regulated every heartbeat and every breath we took. It was all encompassing. I thought our love could withstand time and anything thrown our way.

I was wrong. So wrong.

I used to be happy. I used to be Juliette Weston when Dylan Somers filled my life with promises of love and a happy ever after. But when he took my heart and broke it into a million pieces, I became someone else entirely. In one afternoon, I lost my soul mate. I lost everything I knew myself to be.

Three years later, the man who destroyed me is back.

To assuage his guilt? To finish the job? It doesn’t matter… I won’t let him this time. I’m stronger. I’ve moved on. He won’t affect me.

This is a story of love and betrayal. Pain and loss. Happiness and fate. It’s about finding your true destiny.

This is our story.

And it’s not for the faint of heart.

My Review

“Why is he back, invading a life that was created in the aftermath of him?”

This series teems with turmoil, longing and questions. Jules is so torn on her feelings towards Dylan, despite her commitment to be with Austin. She’s focused on building a future with a man who can give her a healthy relationship, happiness and love. The question is… is Dylan truly a thing of the past? And moreover, is Austin the right man to give her everything she’d always dreamed of?

“My relationship with him is good. We’re healthy together. There’s comfort in Austin I desperately need. Dylan only causes heartache.”

This second installment delivers some nail-biting scenes that had me reading with bated breath to see what would happen next. The story centers on Dylan’s emotions towards Jules and his disdain towards her intensifying relationship with Austin. Dylan must mend Jules’ broken heart and show her how right they can be again. He must find a way for beauty, happiness and laughs to replace anger, heartache and tears. The problem is… Jules is not open to receiving any of it.

“Only questions remain. That’s all I see when I look at her, the emptiness from lack of answers. I wish I could give her everything she needs, but I can’t. I can’t fill the blackness I’ve instilled in her heart. I can only alter it to something beautiful again.”

The more Dylan pushes, the more Jules seems to pull away and thus we see a dance between conflicting emotions, between two determined men. I assure you that you’ll be anxiously trying to figure out what will happen next in this drama-filled pursuit for Jules’ heart… and happily ever after.

Can’t wait to see what happens next! And for the record….
