Review: Motorcycle Man (#4, Dream Man) by Kristen Ashley

My Thoughts

Sinfully sexy, consuming, exciting, explosive, with a
dangerous, rebellious edge that makes it all the more thrilling.
I couldn’t get enough of super hot alpha boss Tack Allen!

Synopsis

motorcycle man cover“Get ready to ride.”

Tyra Masters has had enough drama to last a lifetime. Now she s back on track and looking forward to her new, quiet life until she meets the man of her dreams. The tattooed, muscled biker plies her with tequila and the best sex of her life. She knows it isn t the tequila and hot sex talking. He s the kind of man she s always wanted. Unfortunately, he s also her new boss.

Kane Tack Allen has a rule: he doesn t employ someone he s slept with. So when he learns he spent last night in bed with his new office manager, he quickly fires Tyra. Yet when Tyra stands up to him and fights for her job, Tack is intrigued. He tells her she can keep her job on one condition: no more sex. Ever. But as things heat up between them, Tack finds that he ll be the one breaking all the rules.

My Review

“Life’s a roller coaster. Best damn ride in the park. You don’t close your eyes, hold on and wait for it to be over, babe. You keep your eyes open, lift your hands straight in the air and enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts.”

Every minute is emotionally charged. Explosive. Rife with desire. Dangerous. Unpredictable. This book was a delicious addiction of which I couldn’t get enough. Tack’s story is everything I expected and more. Kristen Ashley saves the man on the bike for last, leading us into a world where loyalty and secrets are a given, chaos is what’s normal, and bloodshed, kidnapping and vigilante justice can all happen right before you relax with a cold beer and a loving family.

“No one fucks with Chaos because Chaos fucks back, as a unit. You fuck one, you fuck us all.”

Tack Allen was the head of the Chaos Motorcycle Club. He was a beautiful thing to see. Smart. Sharp. Loyal. Rough. Tough. Menacing. You didn’t mess with him and you certainly didn’t mess with Chaos. Despite his well known, successful efforts to clean up the club, you didn’t confuse his ethics with the undeniable fact that he was a dangerous man that always set the rules and got what he wanted. And that included one hot night with a good-looking redhead.

“I was his the minute he sauntered through the crush to get to me, his eyes never leaving mine, his lips surrounded by that kickass goatee curved into a sexy grin. When he’d made it to me, he’d said, “Hey,” in a deep, gravelly voice, and that was it.”

Tyra Masters is looking for a drama-free life with a good, solid job. She’s also looking for the one. She promised herself she’d never settle,  not until she found the one man to make her dreams come true. She met that irresistibly sexy man, tattooed and entirely gorgeous, one fateful night at a party. He gave her the best night of her life… until he kicked her out of bed and sent her on her way.

Hurt, mad and disappointed, Tyra is determined to forget her motorcycle dream man even though she knows it will be tough given the fact that Tack’s her new boss. Problem is, every time she mouths off to him, he likes her even more. Soon enough, Tack doesn’t give her a choice when he decides she’s his woman. She’s in his world now, and once you’re in there’s no out.  Tyra’s Chaos now, tomorrow and forever.

“You belong to Chaos. No one touches what belongs to Chaos. No one . They don’t touch it. They don’t hood it. They don’t bind it. They don’t even breathe in its space unless they have Chaos permission…
“I’m Chaos?”
“Was my dick just in you?”
I fought an annoyed growl and said, “Uh… yeah.”
“Then you’re Chaos.”

Tack and Tyra’s relationship is incredibly volatile. Tack falls deeper for the sassy redhead, day by day, as she peels the layers back to the core of who she is. Loving, loyal, kind and stubborn too. Tyra is utterly attracted to everything about him, despite the fact that she tries to push those feelings down. He’s not the kind of guy she imagined herself with and truth be told, Tack tends to say some pretty hurtful things. Tack certainly isn’t your typical smooth, dream man. He’s rough all over, direct and sometimes crude when tempers flare. Their coming together is an addictive push and pull fraught with misunderstanding and heartache, but also full of excitement and color and a vivacity she’d never experienced before. Because beyond the danger, bossiness and unpredictability he brings, he also infused so much life into her days.

“I like everything about you, honey. Everything. Lived in black and white seems like all my life. Never noticed. Not until you colored my world.”

I loved the way Tyra fell in love with Tack, the life, his kids. And I loved the way Tyra helped bring out a softer, more understanding side to Tack. A side that better understood her and made a future together possible.

“The perfect I was looking for wasn’t perfection. The perfect I was looking for was the one. And he was you.”

And of course, because this is Tack and Chaos, and we already knew the issues with the Russian mob were left without closure, there is all kinds of action and mayhem that requires the team of beautiful, badass men to mobilize into action.

“We’ve hit the hot guy motherlode.”

This is a thrilling installment in the Dream Man series and a must read before jumping into Own The Wind, which features Shy and Tabby’s story (Tack’s daughter). I devoured this novel because so much was happening at all times. Loved Tyra. Loved the kids. Loved the friendships. Loved Tack too, even though there were times where I thought he was moving into insensitive Alpha territory, but it all comes full circle and I totally got the why.

I read the Dream Man series late in the game, after I’d read many other KA books, but for those new to the Kristen Ashley reading experience, I think this is a great series to start with and I highly recommend they are read in order. Each book has a different, special story to impart, with characters you can’t help but love and whom you’ll see again in other books.

“Truth, honesty, perseverance, strength, love of all kinds and forgiveness are all beautiful, Tack. The most beautiful stories ever told are the most difficult to take.”
