Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry: Respect the Rules. Respect the Club.

Just last week, Katie McGarry unleashed her latest story onto our e-readers and I absolutely loved it! Nowhere But Here is the first book in the Thunder Road series and it’s a sexy, suspenseful and addictive story about freedom, forgiveness and love. Today, I’m thrilled to kick off a special tour: Respect the Rules. Respect the Club. Each day, a different blog is giving you the scoop on what the Reign of Terror (the MC Club featured in the series) is all about. This first rule, and perhaps the most noteworthy and relevant to the story, is the one that seventeen-year-old Emily must understand as she learns all about her father, Eli, and the alluring boy she can’t seem to stay away from… Oz.

Synopsis

Nowhere But Here coverAn unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible.

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she’s curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn’t mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They’re the good guys. They protect people. They’re…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club’s most respected member—is in town, he’s gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it’s his shot at his dream. What he doesn’t count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

Respect the Rules. Respect the Club.

The Club is a brotherhood, a family. Our entire organization is built on respect and the only way you have respect is if it’s built on love.

I flip Cyrus off as I head to check on Emily. Cyrus flips it back. The moment I have a cut on my back, I’m going to have to watch myself with the board members, especially being a prospect. But for now, Cyrus isn’t the president of the club to me—he’s the man who took care of me for the first few years of my life. ~ Oz’s Point of View from NOWHERE BUT HERE

There’s an organization to a motorcycle club, a hierarchy. Those who have the right qualities—loyalty, commitment, integrity and honor—can work their way up from being a Prospect (someone undergoing a trial period to see if the club is a good fit) to general membership and even to being one of the select few who becomes a board member making key decisions on the club’s behalf. But no matter what level of membership you have, being part of the club means being treated with respect—and giving other members the same courtesy. It’s truly a brotherhood, with all the familial loyalty that entails.

In Nowhere But Here, 18-year-old Oz badly wants to be the Reign of Terror’s newest Prospect—and the healthy respect he feels for the Terror is inextricably linked with the love he has for the club members who raised him since birth. The club is truly a brotherhood for him, in more ways than one.

Umm the obvious answer to your question is ROMANCE FICTION but I do enjoy fantasy quite a lot also (preferably with romance but doesn’t have to be)
