Synopsis

The first rule of football–don’t screw with a streak.

My career is finally looking up, and I’m leading a new pro team down the field every Sunday. No way will I mess with that. But when I meet the most stunning and captivating woman I’ve ever seen, I tell myself one night will have to be enough.

But it’s not. And now I can’t get her out of my mind. Even when I’m playing. Even when I need to focus. Even when I’m on the hottest streak of my life.

And it turns out, she’s not just some random woman I met. She works for the team. My team.

***

I only have one goal this season–do my part as the team’s lawyer to keep them out of trouble. Help rebuild their reputation on and off the field. There’s no room for error and certainly no room for a secret tryst with a player . . . even if he’s the quarterback.

Right?

Review: The Summer Games: Out of Bounds by R.S. Grey

My Thoughts

An irresistible enemies-to-lovers romance
with off-the-charts sexiness and tension.

4halfstars

Synopsis

The Summer Games Out of BoundsI despise Erik Winter.

He’s arrogant and cruel—a man I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy—and by some twisted turn of fate, he’s my new Olympic gymnastics coach.

I’ve had to contend with gruff coaches in the past, but Erik is far worse. His stern demeanor complements a body built for intimidation, and his reprimands come from a mouth so cunning, I know it could strip me of my defenses—if I let it.

Though each of us would love to be rid of the other forever, we are bound to each other by need and necessity. I’m his rising star, his best shot at proving himself to his critics. And without a coach, I have zero chance of winning gold in Rio.

The easiest way forward would be to wave a white flag and make peace with the man I’ll be sharing close quarters with for the foreseeable future, but he is intent on war.

Fine. By. Me.

If he pushes me, I’ll push back harder. If he wants to test me, to play with my head, I’ll show him just how many boundaries I’m willing to cross. Because I know it’s not a choice between winning or warring—not if you can have them both. At the end of it all, I plan on leaving Rio with gold around my neck and his icy heart in the palm of my hand.

My Review

There is nothing better, nothing more enjoyable than a good enemies-to-lovers romance. R.S. Grey’s latest packs all that goodness, plus some oh-my-god toe curling sexual tension—definitely her sexiest book to date! Roll all that in with the excitement that is the Olympics, and you’ve got yourself gold.

Brie Watson was headed to Rio. She was determined to win gold, for her mother, for all she’d sacrificed. As a gymnast, she had the potential to bring home at least four gold metals, which meant money in her mother’s bank account. It meant just a little less stress.

She never counted on Erik Winters.

He wasn’t supposed to be her coach and he wasn’t supposed to be an asshole, but from the moment they met collided, fireworks of every kind erupted.

“I HATED ERIK with every fiber of my being.”

Volatile, explosive—their tempers were a match made in hell. Their pride constantly at war with their intensifying desire for each other. Every moment was super charged… for better or for worse.

“He was the coach, I was the gymnast. End of story.”

Somewhere along the way, through the constant bickering and the stolen moments of intimacy, real feelings emerged, making everything more complicated.

But Erik was a question mark. He was hot and cold. He was a one-night-stand kind of guy. And he was Brie’s coach. As they headed to Rio, her focus should have been on what she had to do, but instead, it was on this man who was slowly unraveling her.

“From the first day I’d met Erik, we’d been at war. If we weren’t throwing knives, we were falling into each other’s arms.”

Everything comes to a head in Rio where hearts must decide, where gold must be won. The tension, the emotion, the determination, it all goes down and certainly not without fireworks.

I pretty much devoured this book in a single evening. I couldn’t put it down! Between the angst and the serious chemistry, it was a non-stop swoon kind of book. Delicious, delightful and hot hot hot, The Summer Games: Out of Bounds is one of the funnest books of the summer.
