A gripping story about two sisters inexorably altered by a terrible accident.
Dara and Nick used to be inseparable, but that was before the accident that left Dara’s beautiful face scarred and the two sisters totally estranged. When Dara vanishes on her birthday, Nick thinks Dara is just playing around. But another girl, nine-year-old Madeline Snow, has vanished, too, and Nick becomes increasingly convinced that the two disappearances are linked. Now Nick has to find her sister, before it’s too late.
In this edgy and compelling novel, Lauren Oliver creates a world of intrigue, loss, and suspicion as two sisters search to find themselves, and each other.

The Winner’s Crime (#2, Winner’s Trilogy) by Marie Rutkoski is out tomorrow and I’m so excited to dive back into this series after falling in love with the incredibly written, smart first novel, The Winner’s Curse.
The story is richly descriptive and engaging. It’s a story of star-crossed lovers, Kestrel and Arin. Kestrel is the daughter of a general, while Arin is nothing but a poor slave. Rutkoski explores the complicated nature between the wealthy and their slaves, earned trust, vacillating alliances and so much more. It’s such a smart book and it ended with a gripping plot twist that has me ready to dive into this second installment.
Must Reads of the Week
I just finished listening to Angelfall and World After by Susan Ee on Audible and I loved both of these books! This series—Penryn and the End of Days—is a rich, suspenseful dystopian/paranormal romance story that introduces us to a world demolished by angels. Penryn, our heroine, searches for her 7-year-old sister, and ends up partnering with an unlikely ally as her adventure ensues. There’s romance, mystery, action and incredibly chilling plot turns. I can’t wait for the final book, End of Days, which is out in May!
