VBB Weekly – 12.21.2015

vbb weekly christmas

It’s an exciting week full of family, friends, fun and well, food, of course! I just wanted to take a second and say thank you again for your support this year and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, any way you celebrate it.

I’ll be spending time with my boys, reading late into the day in pajamas, and trying to relish this quiet time with my family.

Meanwhile, on the reading front, I’ve been quite entrenched in the Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima. Each book is better than the one before, and I’ve got one more book to go before I finish this four-book fantasy series!!! I’ve actually been listening to them on Audible, and they are great! Check them out if you’re a fantasy reader!

Happy holidays and happy reading! ♥

Releasing This Week

This Raging Light by Estelle Laure (Dec 22) – YA

This Raging LightCan the best thing happen at the worst time?

Her dad went crazy. Her mom left town. She has bills to pay and a little sister to look after. Now is not the time for level-headed seventeen-year-old Lucille to fall in love. But love—messy, inconvenient love—is what she’s about to experience when she falls for Digby Jones, her best friend’s brother. With blazing longing that builds to a fever pitch, Estelle Laure’s soulful debut will keep readers hooked and hoping until the very last page.

My Kind of Wonderful (Cedar Ridge) by Jill Shalvis (Dec 22) – Read an excerpt

My Kind of WonderfulUNEXPECTED AND UNDENIABLE . . .

Bailey Moore has an agenda: skiing in the Rockies, exploring castles in Europe, ballroom dancing in Argentina. Now that she has a second lease on life, she’s determined not to miss a thing. What she doesn’t realize is that item #1 comes with a six-foot-one ski god hot enough to melt a polar ice cap. She doesn’t want to miss out on him either, but Hudson Kincaid isn’t the type of guy to love and let go. And as gorgeous as Cedar Ridge is, she’s not planning to stick around.

As head of ski patrol at his family’s resort, Hud thinks he’s seen it all. But never has he run into someone like Bailey. She might look delicate, but her attitude is all firecracker. And her infectious joy touches something deep within him that he’s been missing far too long. Now he’ll just have to convince Bailey to take a chance on her biggest adventure yet . . . something rare and all kinds of wonderful.

FriendTrip by M.E. Carter and Sara Ney (Dec 22)

Friend Trip“A best friend is someone you can trust; they make you laugh, they hold you when you cry… they drive you to the sex shop when you’re trying to spice up your marriage.”

Becky used to be “the fun one.” But after five kids, yes five, and ten years of marriage, she is becoming everything she swore she’d never be; complacent, content and boring in the bedroom.

Determined to spice things up her marriage, she leans on the one person besides her husband she can always count on for advice; her best friend Janine.

Outgoing and always outspoken Janine has issues of her own; she is tired of living the single life. After a bitter divorce leaves her struggling to find love again, she’s no longer content coming home to an empty apartment, and living vicariously through her best friends love life.

Online dating, confused husbands, and flirting with random porn stars lead to nothing but trouble. Because nothing with these two is easy—and nothing ever goes according to plan.

Ever. At all. Not even close.

The Storm by Samantha Towle (Dec 23)  99¢

The StormSTORM (noun)—a turbulent disturbance; a disruption or dispute.

Jake Wethers’s life is perfect. He’s married to the woman he’s always loved, and they have three beautiful children. The Mighty Storm is still going strong, and his record label is thriving.

Jake has everything—a life he thought he would never have and one that he didn’t think he deserved.

Not so long ago, Jake’s life wasn’t perfect. The unexpected and untimely death of his best friend, Jonny Creed, sent an already out-of-control Jake spiraling down further.

Drug addiction. Alcohol. Women.

Jake was in the fast lane to following Jonny to the grave until Tru Bennett walked back into his life and changed everything.

But now, the past that Jake left behind has come back to find him. And what the past brings with it is going to be one of the biggest challenges he has ever faced.

Note: The Storm is a novella following on from the intentional bestselling Storm series. It is advisable to read The Mighty Storm and Wethering the Storm before reading The Storm. Taming the Storm does not need to be read to understand the novella, but if read, it will enhance the reading element.

Break Even by Lisa De Jong (Dec 27)

Dec-27

My story isn’t a love story … not the typical kind anyway.
As a lawyer, I’m used to discovery, but I never saw this one coming.

Every day, River gives me ten reasons to stay away, and then eleven reasons why I can’t. Our relationship was to remain strictly business, or at least I tried.

Four years of marriage, and everything with Cole has changed. I never knew two people who lived together could be so distant. But I’m not ready to give up on him.

One man wants to break me.
The other is just trying to get even.

Both are lying to me.

Standalone novel.
