Hot on the heels of her beloved Marriage to a Billionaire novels,ย New York Timesย bestselling author Jennifer Probst nails it with the first in an all-new sexy romance series featuring red-hot contractor siblings who give the Property Brothers a run for their money!
Ever the responsible eldest brother, Caleb Pierce started working for his fatherโs luxury contracting business at a young age, dreaming of one day sitting in the bossโs chair. But his fatherโs will throws a wrench in his plans by stipulating that Caleb share control of the family business with his two estranged brothers.
Things only get more complicated when demanding high-end home designer Morgan hires Caleb to build her a customized dream house that matches her specifications to a Tโor sheโll use her powerful connections to poison the Pierce brothersโ reputation. Not one to ignore a challenge, Caleb vows to get the job doneโif only he can stop getting distracted by his new clientโs perfectโฆamenities.
But thereโs more to icy Morgan than meets the eye. And Calebโs not the only one who knows how to use a stud-finder. In fact, Morgan is pretty sure sheโs found hersโand he looks quite enticing in a hard hat. As sparks fly between Morgan and Caleb despite his best intentions not to mix business and pleasure, will she finally warm up and help him lay the foundation for everlasting love?
โIf we refuse to live and work together for a year, the company is dissolved?โ
Dyken nodded.
Tristan shook his head. โIt doesnโt make sense. Itโs been in the family for generations! The company is worth millionsโChristian would never give up all that money.โ
โYes, he would,โ Caleb said softly. His brothers turned to stare at him. โHeโs always wanted the final word. Now heโs got it. If we donโt play by his rules, weโll lose everything weโve worked for.โ
Dalton groaned, rubbing his forehead. โThis is insane. We havenโt worked together in years. Tristan and I have our own stuff going on.โ
An uncomfortable silence settled around them. In minutes, his whole future had blown up. His identity and livelihood was tangled within the company, and the idea of losing it brought a faint rush of panic. How should he play it? His brothers had taken leave years ago and couldnโt care less. Theyโd opened up their own businesses and left the past behind. Heโd done everything right, followed in his fatherโs footsteps, and gotten fucked.
โI guess we dissolve the company,โ Tristan finally said. โThere seems to be no other choice. Iโm sorry, Caleb. I have no other suggestions.โ
Caleb appreciated the gleam of regret in his brotherโs eyes, but it wasnโt enough. He was the one with everything to lose, and it was up to him to convince them they could have it all. He leaned forward. โHear me out. I know youโre ready to call it quits. I know youโre pissed off that I didnโt call you about Dad and never had time to say goodbye. I made a big mistake, but I swear to God I didnโt do it to hurt you.โ
He had their attention. Good. Heโd have one shot at this, and he had to be good. โI invested everything in this company. I was promised Pierce Brothers as my future; I stayed by Dadโs side, taking his shit, because I was the only one ready to protect the family business.โ
Dalton shot up out of his chair. โAre you kidding me right now? Dad never listened to anyone else but you! Donโt act like you were doing us some big favor or sacrifice for staying. Do you know how many times we tried to get in- volved? We wanted to be a part of this, too.โ
โBullshit,โ Caleb retorted. โYou hated taking orders, and you wanted to do whatever you wanted. Instead of listening to a customerโs specs, youโd focus on your current dream project, then get mad when they didnโt want to pay for it!โ
โIโm an artist and you never gave me a chance. You drove me out of here.โ
โI think sleeping with my fiancรฉe drove you out of town, brother. Not me.โ
Caleb could tell that it still stung, but Dalton kept to the script heโd been repeating for years. โI didnโt sleep with her! I just wanted to prove she wouldnโt be faithful.โ
โThanks. I was real grateful.โ

Hmm. One of the brothers slept with his brother’s fiancee to “prove she wouldn’t be faithful.” The only thing that’s Property Brothers-ish about this is they’re in construction. From the good-boy image the Scott twins project, I doubt Jonathan will sleep with Drew’s girlfriend to “prove” her faithfulness. I don’t know if I’ll buy this now…

The brothers are not on good terms and that’s one of the reasons why. But that is something that happened in the past and their stories bring them closer to one another as they grow.
